How it works

A clear path into carefully planned tuition

BloomStone follows a clear process so support is carefully planned from the start and you can see how your child’s learning is developing over time.

The first stage builds a clear picture of your child’s English. From there, tuition follows a structured cycle of planning, teaching, practice and review, so support can continue to adapt around your child’s needs.

BloomStone reviews what your child has shown in lessons and homework.

New language is introduced clearly through explanation, modelling, guided practice and independent application.

A short pre-lesson task helps your child return ready to build on prior learning.

The next teaching focus is adjusted, extended or revisited where needed.

Each lesson is planned around your child’s current teaching focus and next step in academic English.

Focused homework helps the new language become more secure after the lesson.

Progress updates for parents

Learning is reviewed throughout the unit. Parent updates are shared at key points.

You will receive:

  • a midpoint progress update

  • a fuller written review at the end of the unit

These reviews outline current strengths, current priorities and recommended next steps. Support can then continue with a refined focus, move into a different area of academic English or pause where appropriate.

Accessing lessons

Lessons take place online through LearnCube, a secure teaching platform designed for one-to-one learning.

A lesson link is provided in advance, and setup guidance is shared before the first session. The platform includes an interactive workspace so your child can read, write, discuss and work closely with the teacher during the lesson.

Zoom is available as a backup where needed.
